I experienced a realization on our trip to NC last week, though--the reason kids fuss so much on trips is those blasted car seats/boosters/seat belts. When I was a kid, we could switch seats, lay down, turn around on our knees and watch the world swirl by backwards-like...it was so much more fun than being strapped in place for four hours, right? A necessary evil!
