I've been told that you can't rely on that qwitter program - people unfollow me on twitter for some nonsensical reasons (after a "reasonable" blog and yet stay with me after I rant).

p.s. Maybe a trip to Vegas for hubby? What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas? ;)

Oh baby, you know how I feel about this! Education is soooo important! I talk to my girls about everything as it comes up and am really honest about the world in a way that I feel is age appropriate. As you know, my alpha child is almost 18 and has been relatively problem free. I honestly believe that this has to do with our commmunication and how we have dealt with issues as they arice.
All joking aside, I hope that my little one and I have the same open communication. I think we do, but thAt remains to be seen.
Thanks for your support and feedback, umber one fan!

EXACTLY - they can just keep their heads stuck in the sand and I hope they choke on it - condoms can prevent sooooo much and are so simple to use, easy to procure and in the whole scope of things, are pretty economical if one does the math and figures out how little you are paying for protection from some pretty damn nasty diseases as well as pregnancy but folks are still in denial about the need for stuff like that......
well, a pox on them - a pox they will most definitely get because they are still living in the Dark Ages as it relates to society's need for the mass use of prophylactic devices!!!!
so says a nurse who worked OB and saw some reeeaaalllly nasty things, lots of unplanned babies and many other weird situations where condoms could/should have been used but weren't.....
whew - and I will be stepping down from my soap-box now.....
ps - funny that I should be reading this tonight - my Alpha Child, who is in Gr. 6, just brought home a letter from school that said on May 29, he will be learning all about HIV/AIDS such as what it is, how it's transmitted (including drug use and specific sexual activities), how it's NOT transmitted, how it's treated and how to protect oneself and others from getting infected - it's kinda odd but it's part of the curriculum for his SCIENCE class - oh well, whatever - I don't care if they did it in Math class, as long as it gets done - and he better come home and tell me that the words "use a condom" were said somewhere in the presentation!!!
boy, have times changed, though,- can you imagine if they would have tried that with our class in PL? our class caused the French teacher to have a nervous breakdown - I don't even want to think about what we would have done to someone who tried to discuss stuff like THIS with us.....ha ha ha ha
